Do I have to be in Shape to start?

NO! Most common misconception is that this type of training is only for those in shape! NO! Functional Fitness is an amazing way to GET in shape. We build our workouts and modify to YOUR ability! As your fitness improves we will modify less and less! You will not be the only one modifying!

Is it Dangerous? Will I get hurt?

The likely hood of you getting injured here is the same if you were to play a sport, or start running. What we mean by that is that injuries happen for many reasons. When someone is injured  it is due to a variety of reasons such as: Overtraining, Ego Lifting (lifting too heavy), Poor Technique, Poor Coaching. We pride ourselves in taking care of our members by not allowing any of that in our gym. We have built in recovery days to keep from over training, we spend a portion of our classes working on correct form and we put our members into levels to prevent them from lifting weights that are too heavy for them. It is our goal to make our members FITTER, SMARTER and STRONGER! 

What's the difference between this and a bootcamp?

We combine all avenues of fitness. Each class is different and we spend time learning the skills behind the movement in order to ensure we are doing it correctly. We lift heavy weight and learn much more advanced movements as your skill level increases. We introduce and instruct members how to perform Olympic Lifting (Clean & Jerk, Snatch) as well as higher level body weight movements (Muscle Ups, Hands Stand Push Ups, Pistols). Some classes will have a moderate heart rate and others will force your heart to work harder than ever before. Bootcamps focus on lightweight and high heart consistently, but there is no skill or strength which means minimal to no muscle increase.

Will I get muscular and "bulky"?

Women: You will increase your muscle. You will lose body fat. YOU WILL NOT GET "BULKY".

Women do not produce enough testosterone to build muscle the same way men do. The hormones in our bodies keep us "softer". In order to get "bulky" you would require extra help from Nutrition and Drugs. 

The Muscle increase in your body will assist in your fat loss! MORE MUSCLE  = LESS FAT!

What makes
us different
than
other gyms?

Many things!

We only have 2 Full-Time Coaches which means we are consistent with our members. We know all members by name and know their capabilities. We know when to push them and when to back off because we see them everyday!

We include Skill and Strength into EVERY class! A lot of gyms only allot enough time for Skill or Strength and finish with a WOD. We program our classes and time them perfectly in order to ensure our members LEARN and get STRONG while also getting a workout in. 

We fix your mistakes! We understand that you want to get better and we are not your cheerleaders. We keep you accountable and will not let poor form and missed reps pass. 

We level our members. When you join us we assess your fitness/strength and put you in a level according to your abilities. As you increase and improve your strength, mobility and fitness we move you up a level to keep you challenged. By doing so we ensure that no one lifts too heavy/light and are constantly challenged. 

I'm currently injured...is it ok to still try this?

Depends on the injury. Something that is minor and can be worked around or made better with rehab? Yes. We can modify and give you exercises to strengthen the injury to heal faster. We incorporate rehab into our daily warm up as well.

Something serious? Consult your doctor. But it's best to heal first and strengthen later. 

Do you offer Free Trials?

YES! Your first Class is ALWAYS free!

We do not give out Free Weeks, however we do offer 1 week for $20. At the end of your first week if you choose to sign, this $20 would be subtracted from your First Months Payment.
