A challenging, professional and welcoming atmosphere. It has been a great experience learning new things and being pushed out of my comfort zone!
I have been to several CrossFit gyms and can say that this box is definitely one that I highly recommend! Coach James Crosby has meticulously worked with me to help correct my physical imbalances and improve on various functional movements. He has been able to effortlessly identify errors in my lifting technique and has taken the time to correct them using various queues/drills. Even while nursing injuries, he has done an amazing job at modifying workouts such that I was able to perform them. His passion for what he does is what sets him apart from other coaches. He takes an active interest in continually expanding his knowledge base, which equips him with the skills necessary to develop his members to become the best athletes they can be! Another added bonus at FBCF is that Coach Martine Miller-Crosby organizes fun socials for the gym community, which has been a great way for me to get to know other members and build some new friendships! Additionally, she has been another excellent mentor at the gym as she has a wealth of knowledge to share and truly takes an active interest in all of her members.
Coach has made this worth every minute waking up for in the mornings. I have always had a love for exercise but Coach has taught me how to train at higher levels of intensity that I never thought I would be able to push myself too. He is the reason I’ve become stronger both physically and mentally. He pushes you to your potential and challenges you to do your best. Thanks to him I have learned new lifting movements and skills I wouldn’t have ever tried on my own. He is very knowledgeable in his area and has a fantastic approach to teaching new skills to avoid injury. Coach makes me look forward to getting stronger and this comes from his passion to help others succeed. Thank you for all that you do, I greatly appreciate it! You're an amazing coach and your dedication doesn’t go unnoticed!

Coach is undoubtedly the best at what he does. If you're looking for someone to push you to constantly improve and to basically transform your life, he is the man for you. Make no mistake; he is tough as nails and you will get no sympathy from him. But his goal is to make you stronger and better in the safest, most effective way possible. To be honest, I wasn't sure if my happy-go-lucky personality would mesh with his no-nonsense, take-no-prisoners attitude but I honestly adore him. Do you want to be coddled and showered with praise and "woo-hoo"s? You should probably look elsewhere. Do you need is to be motivated to do actual work and to get to the "next level"? Coach will do that for you, no question. I have never once thought about flaking on a session with him because he creates in me an urgency to succeed; a spark no other trainer had ever ignited. In as little as a few weeks, I was doing stuff I didn't know I was capable of doing, thanks to him. I know I have a LONG way to go but I am beyond confident that Coach will help me achieve my goals and beyond. Thank you for all that you do, Coach! much in my life before. In only a short few months I am already seeing major changes in my body, and feeling better and stronger. I always look forward to our sessions, he's fun to talk to and train with. I enjoy learning more about crossfit and different ways to train your body. I can't wait to see how far my fitness will go!

Since meeting the coaches and joining Fat Bottom CrossFit, my outlook towards both fitness and life have changed for the better. Before joining here, the term “CrossFit” itself intimidated me, but it truly is for everyone. The innovative workouts these coaches create are intense, designed to both build up strengths while simultaneously challenging weaknesses, but everything can be modified to an individual’s abilities; this allows for strong and fast personal improvement, if you listen to the coaches and are willing to put in the work results are guaranteed. Even in varying class sizes, there is always one-on-one attention provided, and this support has pushed me to not only set goals I never planned on, but also see vast improvements which only drives me to find more success in the gym.
Both James and Martine are always there to hold you accountable - they’ll push you further than you think you can go, and believe in you when you don’t believe in yourself. The support and encouragement goes beyond just the amazing coaches, all the members of FBCF are there to cheer you on and the combination of these two creates and welcoming and friendly environment that can sometimes be missing from conventional gyms. From my experience, FBCF is a one-of-a-kind, personal workout experience, tailored to achieve the success you are looking for.
I have never worked so hard or felt so satisfied after any workout. I have played elite sports all my life including university/varsity level sports and this is by far the best and most knowledgeable training I have ever had. This is not your ordinary gym. The knowledge and coaching you receive from this gym is incredible. They push you to be the best you can be by breaking down movements, making sure you have proper form to prevent Injuries while obtaining maximum performance. I have had a lot of injuries during my younger years as an athlete that have hindered me from doing certain movements but the coaches have taken their own extra time before and after class time to work with me so I can work out pain free and properly. They go above and beyond to make sure every member is working towards achieving their goals. No matter what your goals are, they will make sure you achieve them! The programming each day is well planned and thought out. This gym has a fun, positive, small community vibe that makes you feel extremely comfortable. I never had a better experience than this. Every class keeps me wanting to come back for more!
